I've been dreaming about a dress for a month. I don't have a commercial pattern ready and I don't have the skills to make the pattern from scratch. So, as always, I rely on my skills for altering existing patterns and make a seasoned pattern salad :)

Here is the target: It's a part of Carven Resort Collectin 2014 which I've noticed on Diane Kruger for the first time.

I think I'll change the straight neck and make it more curvy and I have no idea about how to make those tucks on the sides. Honestly, I also don't think that they'd be as flattering on a regular size than on a Hollywood star.

I fell in love with the envelope skirt and combining it with a strapless top. On the other hand, this design looks best with this specific fabric 'cause the white version of the same dress looks very ordinary. Even Siena Miller's glamour doesn't help it much, doesn't it?

I couldn't find the time have my regular visits to the fabric stores for a while and I really wanted to have a plaid fabric to work with. Yet again, the fabric stash at home didn't let me down.

Although it looks completely different from plaid, I intend to make use of this lace for a while. It does look a bit old doesn't it? :/ Well... I have an idea to make it look young and hip. We'll see how it goes.

for the pattern, I'm thinking about combining 2 BurdaStyle patterns. The top will be from this dress:

The skirt will be a revised version of this:

Let the games begin! :D
